“A child who reaches age 21 without smoking, abusing alcohol or using drugs is virtually certain never to do so.” ~ Joseph A. Califano, Jr., Chairman and President, The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University
In a culture where misperceptions abound exist relating to drug abuse, the work of MEADA and countless other organizations who focus on drug prevention realize that our work is far from over. MEADA’s first and foremost focus from the beginning was to raise awareness in our communities about the widespread destruction Methamphetamine was having on our quality of life. Great strides were made on that front throughout numerous communities.
This heightened awareness has opened our coalition’s eyes to the need to continue our Meth awareness efforts while also beginning to focus in on to the destruction that follows the abuse and misuse of alcohol, marijuana, prescription and over the counter drugs, etc…
MEADA’s website design follows that belief mentioned above and encourages you to search through this section to learn some great information about the ‘other drugs’ of concern.
